Autumn love

Autumn is my favorite time of the year.

I love natures beautiful colors.....

.....watching the farmers harvesting

.......and feel the sweet smell of honey from heather in full bloom.

And I love the fact that the beaches are empty and I don`t have to wear a bikini until next year.... and by then boy will I be skinny !!!
Autumn is when I get a strange urge to take evening classes in pottery or glass fusing. Or when I plan to write that book I always wanted to write. Or when I want to learn a new language. Or redecorate my home. Or move…. Autumn is the time for long walks by the stormy see or out in the woods to pick mushrooms, acorn or chestnuts. The crisp sunny days when the sky is so blue it hurts….Oh joy! My autumn obsession is mostly a September thing. Come beginning of October my second obsession kicks in….Christmas! And is far worse! I absolutely LOVE Christmas. The candle lights, the decorations, the present makings, the looking for the perfect tree…. Well you get the picture! And you will defenitely SEE pictures here in my blogg.

Autumn colors inspired me to make this little felted piece. The text is a iron on transfer and It`s part of a poem written by Elsa Beskow.

So fall all our leafs, fall soft and light
We are weaving a blanket so warm and tight
We are weaving a blanket for the ground

That photo of the heather is so beautiful... and I agree Autumn is an amazing season but I too love the start of Spring before the heat hits us... I thank you for dropping by my blog we have sort of decided to go ahead with our plans with the courthouse but we need to finish off a few things here before we can put this place on the market... We have decided to sell our little cottage which will be hard but will give us the money we need to make the courthouse how we want it... Thank you for your words of wisdom... Take care Cathy

Dear Jeanette, what beautiful photos and thoughts you have posted. I'm afraid that sometimes I spend a little too much time stopping to enjoy all the little things in life! I am lucky that as a stay-at-home mum I am afforded this little luxury. Spring is one of the worst times for stopping too much...eventhough I feel so motivated by the gorgeous weather, I seem to spend a great deal of time walking around the garden in sheer wonderment at all the beauty life has to offer...that same feeling you have about the moon. I know exactly what you mean...magical, healing, beautiful.
I hope your daughter is doing much better. Your feltings are such a wonderful thing to have come out of your hardtime...they are superb.
The little felting you did for me has arrived safely and I absolutely love it. It was like Christmas when I found it in my mailbox...to think it had travelled so far was an added excitement.
Many more happy Autumn days to you,
Angela.

Boy, I'm glad you found me, coz this way I got to know your blog too. Your blog is beautiful.Yes, Autumn is my favourite season for my part of the world too. Spring is wonderful with new life and new blooms, but only a little "imperfected" by my hay fever. But Autumn, I love everything about Autumn, it's perfect, the colours on trees are awesome. I always think Autumn passes too quickly. Your pictures are great, love the gorgeous felted piece you made, also love that first picture with the leaves.

What a lovely post. Right now, Autumn in San Diego seems the distant future. We're in our annual heat wave. 105 yesterday! ayk. Love your photos. LOVE your felted pieces!!
and I agree, September (the traditional beginning of the school year) seems a time to start new projects and learning new things.

Hi Jeanette - I tried to send you a reply to the comment you left on my Blog, but you don't have an email link on your Blog, so this is the only way I can contact you. Thanks so much for your lovely comment, much appreciated. I have been browsing a little on your Blog, and you are so eloquent, I love your felt pieces, just gorgeous, and remarkable how they so obviously relate to your 'inspiration'. The photograph is beautiful - do you have a very posh camera? I tried to take a picture of that yellow moon too, my pix were absolute rubbish! Hope you daughter is making a good recovery. Val
PS email me from my Blog and I will send you a pattern of the fairy

Your autumn leaf felted piece is lovely! I really like the spiderweb stitching.

It is not fall here yet but school has started and I feel like starting new projects!

I get energized by cool weather too. Fall is almost like a second spring in Texas. It is the start of a different growing season. The winter weeds, some even with very beautiful but tiny flowers. Even the most noxious weeds like the tumble weed turns the most amazing reds and purples in winter.
